Trophies won’t work from savegames

Posted under News by Jake Rowe on 30 June 2008 43 views

According to Sony, trophies patched into older games will have to be unlocked again and cannot be gotten from savegames.

Meaning that even if you’ve got 100% on Lego Indy, your gonna have to finish the whole thing again to get your well deserved points.

It’s supposedly because of the ease of savegame sharing on the ps3, so it makes sense really.

PS3 Firmware 2.4 out Wednesday

Posted under News by Jake Rowe on 32 views

trophy.png

It’s finally coming. With the new firmware on its way, life is about to get easier for us ps3 owners. After this Wednesday we shall be able to use the XMB in game and access the new trophy system.

There has been a full list of features released but rather than me listing them all and you reading them al, check out these two video demonstration on Playstation Blog. The first showing how the XMB works in the game and the second being an explanation of how the trophy system works.

I think the trophy system is looking good and the video did clear up one of my earlier worries that older games may not get trophy support but older games can be patched to include trophies.

Looks like I might have to finish Haze again….

Lego Indiana Jones demo available

Posted under News by Kieran McGregor on 67 views

lego-indy.bmp

Now why are they doing this, Lucasarts and Tt Game have only just released a demo of Lego Indiana Jones onto the Xbox Live Marketplace, I would like to remind you that the game itself was released on the 6th of June. But anyway the game takes you through the actual Indiana Jones story, you play Raiders of the lost ark, Temple of doom and the last crusade, but the game will usually throw in a little bit of the lego ame humour. Now for those of you that played the LEGO Star Wars games and thought they were a bit easy, I would strongly advise you buy this game because it is much harder, for most of the puzzles I had to ask my friend what to do and he it wasn’t because he was clever and knew how to do it…it was because he was using a walkthrough.

So I would advise you buy this game or if your not sure download it first. If your stuck on any part of the game leave a comment describing where your stuck and i will help you.

Rock Band 2 this September

Posted under News by Kieran McGregor on 134 views

rb2.jpg

Well as I promised you, I would keep you informed on any new rock band 2 news that gets leaked, well there is some new news. First of all there is a release month, it will be released this september, but once again i don’t know if its just for America. And also there is a bit of joy for us 360 owners…we will be getting it first and the PS3 owners will be getting it towards the end of the year.

Now before you go deleting all of your DLC for the first Rock Band, you should probably know that Rock Band 2 feature ground breaking cross-title compatibility. There is no distinction between Rock Band 1 and Rock Band 2 DLC. Any DLC you have downloaded will instantly work on Rock Band 2 and will continue to work on the origional. Now finaly I am afraid that only one instrument has been confirmed and that is the guitar, it will be exactly the same as the origional only with a sunburst finish, I also have a feeling that they might not release new drums or a new mic but none the less, I might just buy it.

AC/DC in Rock Band 2

Posted under News by Kieran McGregor on 29 views

acdc.jpg

Well it has been anounced that Rock Band 2 Will be coming soon, they have said it will be getting released this summer, but if its anything like the first one we may not see it for another few years.

Anyway, people never talk about the songs that are already in the Rock band and Guitar Hero games, its always just complaining about what isn’t there. Well the people that are donig that can Scratch one band off their list and they may well be scratching out many more because it has been confirmed that Rock Band 2 will have over 120 of the biggest rock anthems from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s, featuring the likes of AC/DC.

I might aswell kill two birds with one stone here because the following people will be featuring in Guitar Hero World Tour: Ozzy Osbourne, Sting, Ted Nugent, Billy Corgan, Jimi Hendrix, Travis Barker, Hayley Williams and Zak wylde. Thats the list so far anyway, no doubt someone will complain that someone else should be in there.

The Dark Knight Xbox 360

Posted under News by Kieran McGregor on 31 views

the-dark-knight.jpg

For those of you that don’t already know, The Dark Knight (movie) will be coming to cinemas very soon with advertisments popping up everywhere and anywhere. Now considering Americans get everything and we get nothing, check out this competition they’re having.

All they have to do is buy a limited edition Gotham City pizza (50% more peporoni for $9.99) or The Dark Knight deal (The Gotham City Pizza plus 10-piece wings and a side of bread for $19.99) to enter the competition and they are in with a chance to win one of the two consoles above (the consoles are actually different…the one on the left is darker) and they will also be in with a chance of winning $10K. Now that is totaly awesome…so why can’t we get competitions like that?

Diablo III Announced

Posted under News by Graeme Tulip on 29 June 2008 32 views

diablo_iii.jpg

OK this was a couple of days ago but I try to keep away from Blizzard-type MMO’s. Reason is they’re highly addictive and I have a highly addictive personality. I play a lot of games now and if I started on something like World of Warcraft you’d never see me again. Anyway at their recent convention they announced their next big project to be Diablo III. I know a lot of Diablo II fans and I’m sure they’re jumping up and down right now all Rainman style.

Crysis Won’t Be PC Exclusive For Long Then

Posted under News by Graeme Tulip on 23 views

crysis_warhead.jpg

In an interview with IGN Cervat Yerli, the CEO of Crytek, developer of Crysis said:
It’s crazy how the ratio between sales to piracy is probably 1 to 15 to 1 to 20 right now. For one sale there are 15 to 20 pirates and pirate versions, and that’s a big shame for the PC industry. I hope with Warhead I hope we improve the situation, but at the same time it may have an impact on [our] PC exclusivity in the future.

I don’t know why these guys keep winging, if there’s software out there to copy games then people are gonna do it – no amount of emotional blackmail will stop it. Personally I don’t understand why they’re such pussies, for example why did Bio Ware back-track on the whole SecuROM security system? Because people complained it may cause problems, errrrr yeah… for pirates. My advice if you don’t have the balls to fight piracy then stop making PC games and move to consoles.

Some FREE advice for you Sony

Posted under News by Graeme Tulip on 28 June 2008 30 views

 lost-box-sets.jpg

OK guys I’m feeling a bit sorry for you. I know you try really hard and I know you’re better than this so I’m gonna help you out with three bits of advice. First fire all your analysts they’re freaks. Second (this only applies if you’re serious about Blu-Ray) start lining up the box sets for Blu-Ray, for example get the rights to and release all the series of Lost. How %$@£’ing cool would it be to have the First series of Lost on ONE disc, the second series of LOST on ONE disc etc etc etc. The picture quality of Blu-Ray alone is not enough to sell it and there’s pretty much only one other advantage to the format and that’s its storage capacity – so start making use of it! Third fire all your analysts they’re freaks.
