I’ve never really gotten round to playing this yet, but what I have played is awesome. Anyway, Ubisoft have revealed the “epilogue” DLC pack which is out February 26th on 360 and PS3.

It’s a continuation of the main story with a new region, powers and character skins. Here’s a little more detail.

  • New Region: The Underground Palace – A corrupted underground palace from which the Prince and Elika need to escape in a new epic journey.
  • New Power: Energize – Reconstruct destroyed areas of the environment to create a path and rush through it before it vanishes.
  • New high pace: The new trap challenge – The Prince and Elika will face more cunning foes, cleverer traps and level design, adding more to the difficulty level in over 3 hours of gameplay.
  • New Attack: Sprinting Clash – A duel move that lets you or the enemy trigger a sprint attack, charging towards each other, clashing your weapons fiercely.
  • New Unlockable Skins: Finish the game and unlock exclusively, from the early development of the game, the Prototype characters of the Prince and Elika.

Limited Edition GTA IV points card revealed

Posted under News by Kieran McGregor on 27 January 2009 49 views

gta-ms.jpg

Play.com has revealed a special MS points card worth 1600 Microsoft Points will be released next month. The Points card, printed with a GTA IV: The Lost & Damned design will be a limited edition, released on Friday 13th February 2009.

The purpose of the Points card is to raise awareness of GTA IV’s downloadable content released very soon after the Points card on the 17th, which ironically is also worth 1600 Microsoft Points. Whilst it may not seem to be a cheaper alternative to buying a 2100 MS points card, it’s something to look out for.

The promised Resident Evil 5 demo is now available on Xbox Live. Play by yourself or play with a partner in co-op mode, either online or offline with a split screen.

The demo is not available in Germany. Quite frankly I doubt the game will even come out in germany with the way they’ve been going.

PS3 firmware 2.6 tomorrow

Posted under News by Jake Rowe on 20 January 2009 57 views

Sony have announced the new version of PS3 firmware (v2.6) will be released tomorrow. It’s more of a casual update and isn’t so much for the gamer.

Here’s what it’s all about:

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) is pleased to announce the latest upgrade (system software update version 2.60) for PlayStation 3(PS3). The PS3 experience is about more than just games; it’s also about movies, pictures, music, video and more.

This is in part thanks to PlayStationNetwork, the online space that opens up a world of new and exciting entertainment offerings. Following on from the success of the last enhancement to the service, version 2.60 is available to download from January 21, 2009 and comes with a host of new features that will give PS3 owners an even better experience.

First is the new Photo Gallery application where you can group photos in various ways including by date and time, by event or by the number of people in the photos – you can even create a playlist that groups expressions (e.g. smiles) or age categories, like adults and children.

You can also create a playlist of selected photos and select a photo frame for the playlist, which can also be played with your own music tracks – ideal for saving your family or holiday photos in a way that’s simple to access and easy to enjoy.

But the new features don’t end there: Sony Computer Entertainment have now added the ability to play DivX 3.11 encoded video files – great for reliving some of those hilarious home video moments.

Plus, if you’ve always wanted to see what PlayStationStore has to offer but haven’t yet registered on PlayStation Network, those days are now over. Simply go and take a look at the latest trailers, games demos, exclusive content and loads more at the click of a button, before you decide to create a PlayStation Network account.
