There wont be a PSP2

Posted under News by ArthurJ on 26 April 2009 52 views

Sony has contended there is no PSP2 and they are telling the cold hard truth. There won’t be a PSP2 coming for at least a couple more years. That doesn’t mean that some new PSP hardware isn’t headed our way soon enough. Think more aesthetic changes, more along the lines of DS > DSLite but more substantial of a change. We here at PlayStation LifeStyle are ready to “debunk” or “confirm” some of the rumors that are floating around the net.

We are not at liberty to divulge our sources. Rest assured all will be revealed during E3.

Some of the details I cannot divulge, but we will try our best to let you know what it is, and what it isn’t. We recently noticed PSPWorld’s attempt at “Separating Fact and Fiction” regarding the PSP2, we call it an attempt because it’s pretty much all wrong.

Lego Rock Band has been properly confirmed and here’s the first info on it:

“The game, which will allow families, tweens and teens to experience a wild journey to rock stardom where they can “Build a Band and Rock the Universe”, will be available for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Wii home videogame console. Lego Rock Band for Nintendo DS will be co-developed by TT Games and Harmonix in partnership with Backbone Entertainment, a Foundation 9 Entertainment studio. All versions are scheduled for 2009.

“Lego Rock Band combines the multiplayer music experience of Rock Band with the fun, customization and humour of the Lego videogame franchise packed with brilliant chart-topping songs and classic favourites suitable for younger audiences, including:

Blur: “Song 2″
Carl Douglas: “Kung Fu Fighting”
Europe: “The Final Countdown”
Good Charlotte: “Boys and Girls”
Pink: “So What”

“Players will become rockers as they embark on a journey to stardom that the whole family can enjoy as they work their way through local venues, stadiums and fantasy locations on Earth and beyond, that mimic the imaginative settings that the Lego world offers. Also continuing the LEGO “build-and-play” gaming experience, players will be able to create their own Lego Rock Band style as they customize their minifigure avatars, band and entourage, including roadies, managers and crew. Lego Rock Band supports Rock Band instruments, as well as other music game controllers.”

Anybody else excited?

Fallout: New Vegas unveiled

Posted under News by Jake Rowe on 48 views

Bethesda have unveiled a new Fallout game called Fallout: New Vegas for PS3, 360 and PC.

It’s being developed by Obsidian who many may remember as the developers of Alpha Protocol and Knights of the Old Republic 2.

Little is known about the new setting although it’s being suggested that it’ll be based on locations from the first two games in the Fallout series. It is also not a straight sequel to Fallout 3.

Killzone 2 DLC information

Posted under News by Jake Rowe on 15 April 2009 50 views

Sony earlier confirmed that the soon to be released DLC for Killzone 2 will not be fre. They’ve now released an official statement containing some more information on the download.

According to Sony’s Public Relations Manager Alex Armour:

We wanted to reiterate some of the key details of what will be available as well as let you know the official date it will be on the PSN for download: April 30th. The price for this map pack is still TBA.

The first DLC pack, called “Steel and Titanium”, will contain two brand new multiplayer maps with new gameplay elements and strategic twists, sure to test even the most skilled players.

The first map in the pack is Wasteland Bullet, and the action will take place on the bullet train that and transports goods and troops between Pyrrhus and the Wasteland.

The game is a frenzied firefight to wrestle control of the train from the enemy and into the hands of your faction. With the train moving at full speed, players will need to remain aware of the immediate environment as well as enemies – hitting an overhead obstacle at this speed will mean instant death.

Anybody still playing KZ2 that thinks they’ll download these?

Nintendo DSi sells 92,000 in the first weekend !

Posted under News by ArthurJ on 12 April 2009 55 views

dlnintendo102.jpg

Nintendos brand new handheld console sell over 92,000 in the first weekend it was released. This puts the handheld into fourth place in the ‘biggest UK console launch’ stakes, right behind PS3, PSP and Wii.

One more statistic for all the number-crunchers out there – the DSi manage to outsell all of the other consoles on the market combined when it went on sale last week, according to analysts Chart Track. Yep it sure does look good for the first weekend.
