A 360/PS3 demo of Need for Speed: Shift is due out October 1st if you’re still in two minds about the game. A PC demo is already available however, if the PC is your console of choice.

The highly-acclaimed sequel to Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, has been given an official European launch date. Uncharted 2: Among Theives hits shelves in the UK and Europe on October 16th of this year.

Sony are taking applications for those wanting to join the MAG: Massive Action Game beta, which starts on September 17.

You can apply on the EU PS Blog, and access codes are being handed out on a weekly, first-come-first-served basis, so get in fast.

Here are the official details:

• Up to 16,000 Promotional Codes will be distributed via email on a first come, first served basis. They will be sent out in weekly batches, so don’t give up hope if you don’t get yours straight away
• This is a beta, not a demo. This version of the game will contain bugs and other problems; these will be fixed before the game’s release
• The beta will be open for six hours a day, Monday to Friday. These times are 5pm to 8pm and midnight to 3am, GMT (although they may vary)
• Check the terms and conditions at eu.playstation.com/terms before applying to see if your region is included

256 Players in one match online. Pretty big deal, you might want to apply asap.

The 360 exclusive Star Ocean: The Last Hope is coming to PS3 sometime in 2010.

The ‘International’ version of the game is said to be coming to Japan on Feburary 4th 2010. Star Ocean: The Last Hope International will have English, French and German subtitles, as well as the option for English or Japanese voice acting.

Sony have set up a teaser site for a new mystery game that should be revealed at the Tokyo Game show.

The site shows nothing but a smiley face in the corner, than when clicked starts smiling, then screams and redirects to another Japanese site.

The only clues are the fact that the title of the page is :3D and that the smiley face is a 3 with a D. Probably hinting that this game is soomething 3D.

Some awesome new Uncharted 2 gameplay footage has been released, and it’s the way gameplay footage should be. No voice-overs, no editing, no added music. Just the game.

Earlier this year, Sony announced their new phone, the Aino. Among other things, including make phonecalls I think, this phone can connect to your PS3 through Remote Play, giving you access to the XMB on the go.
