Microsoft have announced the next big Avatar feature to hit Live. Pets.

From tomorrow, you’ll be able to download the first of the Avatar pets, for 240 Microsoft Points each. This first batch includes “Large Dog, Pug Dog, Dog in Bag, Cat, Siamese Cat, Long Haired Cat, Goldfish, Guinea Pig, Monkey, Bird, Snake and yes….a Pony.”

I’ll give you some free advice. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is on offer this week for 240 Microsoft Points if you’re a gold member. Take your points there instead.

Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling tweeted (on the topic of MW2) that the “First title update will be a big one. We’ve been taking notes since release and working. I’ll post details before it ships.”
