It seems the big boys want a piece of the pre-owned action as the Asda Living store at Crownpoint and Tesco’s Basildon Pitsea store both trial a trade-in scheme.
However, with an increasing offensive on preowned games of late publishers are said to be outraged with this new development and are even considering cutting allocations to the ‘greedy supermarkets’ (though I’m sure we all know that will never happen).
Perhaps this will help publishers come to realise that they’re not as powerful as they think and that they should start to work more with retailers instead of against them.
